Procrastinación académica y tipos de motivación en estudiantes de una universidad de Lima Metropolitana.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar las variables de motiva-ción académica que predicen la procrastinación académica en 139 estudiantes universitarios de 18 a 28 años de Lima. Asimismo, se buscó identificar la rela-ción entre procrastinación y tipos de motivación, así como sus relaciones con las variables sociodemográficas edad, sexo, ciclo y rendimiento académicos. Para ello, se aplicaron la Escala de Procrastinación Académica y la Escala de Motivación Educativa. Los resultados evidenciaron que la motivación intrínse-ca de logro y la amotivación predicen la procrastinación. Además, se encontra-ron correlaciones significativas e inversas entre los puntajes de procrastinación académica, y los puntajes de motivación intrínseca, regulación identificada e introyectada, así como una correlación positiva con amotivación y una corre-lación negativa entre el rendimiento académico y procrastinación académica.
